Planning Department

The Planning Department handles daily administration of the Zoning and Development Code relating to all land use development such as subdivisions, residential, commercial and industrial buildings, fence permits, sign permits and new businesses, as well as long-range planning activities. Planning staff work with citizens and businesses on land use issues in an attempt to promote area growth while at the same time preserving and enhancing the beauty and natural resources of our community.

Public Transportation Home

Welcome to the City of Milton-Freewater’s Public Transportation website. As of January 1, 2024, we have sadly said goodbye to the Milton-Freewater bus, but not to worry, Kayak Public Transit has picked up the services!! If you have questions or want to know more about the route, contact KAYAK at 541-429-7519 or visit CTUIR.org

Community Development

The Community Development Department helps identify and seek out opportunities for new businesses, and the growth or expansion of current businesses in the community. Members of the department may assist in securing funding, negotiating work contracts and developing long term plans for economic development in the community. To do this, we work closely with other governmental agencies, as well as community and business leaders.

Work Activities

Electric Department
